INTRODUCTION TO NAVIGATION AND HILL SKILLS
This day is run from the beautiful village of Edale and its surrounding hills and valleys in the Peak District National Park. We run roughly from 8am to 4pm. We will start with the very basics of understanding maps how to read, orientate, and interpretation of map to our surroundings. As the day progresses we move forward to contour appreciation, measuring distance, timings, compass work and much more. There will also be time set aside throughout your day to look at hill kit, equipment and emergency scenarios, the mountain environment.
This is a fun filled day packed with information and presented in a relaxed no pressure atmosphere.
